Police are investigating a horrific crime allegedly perpetrated on an 11-year-old horse by the name of Caesar who called home Castle Hill Farm in Ashley, Altrincham. He was owned by Sarah Whitehead. According to eyewitnesses, a gang of four children between the ages of 9 and 12 beat the horse with a metal fence post, causing grave and fatal injuries to Caesar.
Veterinarians from Leahurst Veterinary Hospital made every effort to save Caesar’s life. However, the horse had suffered extended injuries that proved so severe it was necessary to euthanize the horse after a week of treatment.
According to The Daily Mail that reported the attack, police have contacted the parents of the involved children about their behavior and the attack. Any information that can still come forward would be most appreciated by officials.
