Help Catch The Thugs That Nearly Killed A Friend Of Mine

By Jay Kirell

What’s the point of having a blog if I can’t use if every once in a while to do something proactive.  So, I want you to take a look at the two men in the photo above.

They (and one other guy) turned this man…

A 25 year-old veteran of Afghanistan, who served with me at the same outpost in 2010 along with about 60 other guys from the 101st Airborne.

…into this…

…and this…

His name is Adam Wagner, and he’s one of the nicest people I came across in my time in the military.  Nobody deserves to be beaten like this, least of all a good guy like him.  Currently police in Westland, Michigan are looking for three men who beat him up outside of a 7-Eleven.

Here’s a link to the story, courtesty of MyFoxDetroit:

WESTLAND, Mich. (WJBK) – Westland Police are asking for help identifying three people who are suspected of beating up an army veteran outside a convenience store.

The incident began around 2 a.m. April 3 outside a 7-11 on South Venoy Road when a group of men noticed Adam Wagner’s military ID, which apparently prompted them to start making derogatory comments to him about the U.S. Military.

“They were saying, ‘How can you be in the military when they let black people in the military?’ They used the ‘n word’, saying [he] was an ‘n-word’ lover,” says girlfriend Angela Deguise.

All in all, this is a sickening story.  I hope they catch the creeps who did this.  Help spread the word, if you can.
